Kathmandu, June 8: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Ghanashyam Bhusal has prioritized five different sectors for the reform of agriculture.
While responding to the queries on Appropriation Bill 2077 under his Ministry at the parliament today, Minister Bhusal shared his priority sectors including ensuring the saving of agriculture, equal and transparent distribution of grants, and availability of human skilled resources, effective agriculture insurance policy implementation and minimum support price of agricultural products.
He also argued that the government will purchase the agricultural products if not sold in the market. He said that he was not fully satisfied with the allocated budget to the Ministry as it was not enough to end the middle-men hindrances in smooth access of consumers to produces.
He opined to reduce import as the country was dependent since the last phase of the Panchyat period in importing.
Minister Bhusal argued to restructure and modernize the agro sector adding that the human resources were detached from agriculture profession as it failed to attract them.
