CPN-UML Standing Committee Meeting
By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 20: The Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has denounced those who voted against the party's candidate by deying party's decision in the by-election for the vacant post of National Assembly (NA) member held in Bagmati Province today.
The meeting of the Standing Committee held today at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar condemned the act of flouting the party's official decision.
Meanwhile, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, spokesperson of the party, informed that the party had recommended the government to not leave any stone unturned in the COVID-19 response.
"The meeting recommended the government to call for international aid against the pandemic, make enough arrangements of oxygen, essential medicine and other health materials and introduce legal and institutional framework necessary to battle against the pandemic and protect human lives in a unified manner," said spokesperson Gyawali.
He said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had briefed about the efforts made by the government to prevent and control COVID-19 in the meeting.
Similarly, the Standing Committee meeting also paid homage to former parliamentarian Yog Narayan Yadav, who died of COVID-19.
