By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May. 19: With 8,064 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Wednesday, the nation's novel coronavirus tally has reached 480,418.
Likewise, out of 109 cases of infection were detected in the antigen tests done on the last day, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.
Of the new infections, 2,486 were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley including 228 in Bhaktapur, 270 in Lalitpur and 1,988 in Kathmandu.
Meanwhile, 7,989 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 360,403 cases of recovery.
The Ministry on Wednesday added 246 fatalities to the nation's COVID-19 death toll, which has now spiked to 5,657.
