Kathmandu, Aug. 10: As many as 61 parliamentarians of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have urged the party leaders to maintain unity of the party.
"The party leaders have been pressed by 61 lawmakers to resolve the intra-party feud and move forward as a unified front," informed Naradmuni Rana, NCP's Member of Parliament (MP).
Stating that the signatories were committed to not be involved in any faction, the NCP MPs requested the party leaders to not get influenced by the same.
Organising a press meet on Sunday, the MPs assured that they would not let the party be divided. They are also preparing to submit written request to the party leaders.
According to MP Rana, 70 signatures were collected until Sunday. The request would be submitted to NCP Chairmen, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', by Tuesday or Wednesday, he added.
The request will also be sent to former PM and NCP leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal.
"The party should rather be unified and revitalized and all leaders and parliamentarians must come together to maintain the unity and solidarity within the party," said parliamentarian Rana.
He added that the citizens were disappointed by the fact that the NCP Chairmen had even stopped talking of late instead of reaching a consensus.
