40 COVID-19 patients in State 1 discharged after recovery

By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, June 18: As many as 40 persons from State 1 have recovered from COVID-19 today.

40 patients receiving treatment in Purbanchal University Isolation Treatment Center, Sundarharaicha were discharged from hospital after recovering from SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Out of the 40 recovered patients, 16 were from Sunsari, 11were from Jhapa, nine from Morang and four from Morang, belonging to age group from 15-47 years.

Jiwan Ghimire, State 1 Minister for Social Development, Lok Prasad Sangroula and Raj Kumar Ojha, state assembly members, Shiva Dhakal, Mayor of Sundarharaicha Municipaltiy and Deputy Mayor Dhana Tamang had bid farewell to the recovered patients.

While bidding farewell, Minister Ghimire said that the COVID-19 spread was gradually coming under control in State 1.

“Currently, the virus spread is limited only in quarantine centers. I am confident that the virus will come under control shortly,” said Minister Ghimire. “The quarantine centers will be well managed according to the standards prescribed.”

With this, the number of recovered patients in State 1 has reached 224. The state case load is 416.

Among the COVID-19 patients, 29 are receiving treatment at Koshi COVID-19 Hospital, Biratnagar, 85 at Purbanchal University and 78 are at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan.
