Kathmandu, Dec. 13: As many as 1,450 votes have been cast till Monday at 3 PM in the ongoing election for the new leadership of the Nepali Congress.

Voting is underway at Bhrikuti Mandap premises, Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall and City Hall for the selection of a working committee with new leadership under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

Advocate Tej Bahadur Rawal, a member of the Congress Central Election Committee, said that 1,450 votes have been cast so far. Voting was started three and a half hours delay than the scheduled time.

There are 4,473 delegates in the General Convention. As one has to cast vote on 29 ballot papers, it takes about one hour to cast vote for a General Convention delegate.
