By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung, Oct. 14: As many as 14 people have been seriously injured in a jeep accident in Taplejung.
The ill-fated bolero jeep with registration no. Me 1 Ja 2056 was heading to Tellok of Sirijangha Rural Municipality from Fungling, the district headquarters, when it met with an accident at Lyangba road section in Fungling Municipality-8.
Rakesh Yadav, a police inspector and information officer of the district police office of Taplejung, informed that among the injured are also the children.
All the injured are under treatment at the district hospital in Taplejung while preparations are underway to refer the seriously injured to hospitals outside the district, according to Yadav.
The cause of the accident is predicted to be the failure of the break of the jeep. The jeep was carrying people more than its capacity, it is reported.
