By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 16: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 114 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 275,424.

"In 2,790 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 114 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 915 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 51 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 94 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 271,495 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.6 per cent.

Moreover, no fatality related to COVID-19 was confirmed in Nepal in the last 24 hours. Currently, the COVID-19 death toll is at 3,014.
