By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 16: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 105 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 272,945.
"In 3,360 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 105 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population in its regular update.
Currently, there are 1,587 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation. Likewise, a total of 74 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.
Meanwhile, 99 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 269,303 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.7 per cent.
No COVID-19 fatalities were recorded in Nepal in the last 24 hours. Currently, the nation's COVID-19 death toll stands at 2,055 and the death rate is 0.75 per cent.
