Pokhara, Dec 31 : Chief Minister of Gandaki State, Prithvi Subba Gurung has said the several festivals that are celebrated in Nepal consolidated mutual goodwill and brotherhood.
Chief Minister Gurung said this in a message of best wishes on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar, the main festival of the Gurung community, today.
He wished that may the festival of Tamu Lhosar instill the motivation among all for building a peaceful, prosperous and developed Nepal.
Stating the festival of Tamu Lhosar which is marked as the New Year by the Gurung people has a unique cultural and traditional value, he said the Tamu (Gurung) community has a culturally rich tradition and it has been preserving and promoting its custom, tradition and culture since centuries.
"This year the Tamu community is welcoming the Chyu Lho (rat year) by bidding farewell to the Pho Lho (the deer year) and celebrating the New Year. I wish for good health, happiness and progress of all the Nepalis, especially the Gurung people, on this happy occasion," Chief Minister Gurung expressed his greetings.
The Gandaki State government has decided to give a public holiday today throughout the State on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar.
