Kathmandu, Jan. 3: Muktinath Temple is set to open its doors from Tuesday.
A joint meeting of the Muktinath Temple Development Committee, District Coordination Committee, Baragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality, District Public Health Office, Provincial Assembly members, security agencies and locals decided to open the famous religious site located in Mustang district to the public after a closure of 10 months.
The meeting released a list of decisions detailing that the treatment of any person contracting COVID-19 in the Muktinath area would be managed by the temple development committee from its funds. The list also states that foreign pilgrims and tourists will have to mandatorily present a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) report.
The visitors will have to follow all the health precautions and will only be allowed to spend a maximum of one hour on the temple premises.
