Kathmandu, Aug 21: Veteran artist Shambhuraj Thapa has passed away. He was 55.
Admitted to Patan Hospital for treatment three weeks ago due to corona infection, he passed away this morning, artist Sandesh Lamichhane told RSS.
Thapa, who has been active in the field of art for three decades, had acted in many teleserials and movies. He had acted in teleserials like Meri Bassai, Bhadragol, Golmaal, Halka Ramailo etc. lately. He was popularly known as 'Bakhte' in the Halka Ramailo teleserial.
He also produced a film 'Afno Virano' starring Rajesh Hamal and Gauri Malla. Thapa is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Lamichhane said that Thapa will be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat later today.
