By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 26: Remittance inflow has decreased by 6.3 per cent in the first two months of the current fiscal year (FY) in comparison to the same period of the previous FY.
The data provided by the Nepal Rastra Bank showed that the remittance in the first two months has slipped to Rs. 155.37 billion from Rs. 165.7 billion in the same period of the previous FY.
Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers taking approval for foreign employment has increased to 38 thousand 4 hundred 92 in the current review period. In the previous FY, only 338 had taken the approval for foreign employment.
Similarly, the number of Nepali workers seeking to renew entry for foreign employment has also increased significantly to 22 thousand 9 hundred and 76 in the first two months of the current FY. In the same period of the previous FY, only 4 thousand 3 hundred and 39 had sought the approval.
