By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Janakpurdham, Oct. 6: The seventh session of Province 2 assembly has kicked off today.

Chief Minister of Province 2 Lalbabu Raut is seeking a vote of confidence in the session.

Earlier, Province Chief Hari Shankar Mishra had called for the seventh session as per Article 183 (1) of the Constitution.

Currently, Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Centre) have participated in the Province 2 government and CPN (Unified Socialist) has already expressed its support for the coalition government. Thus, it is certain that CM Raut-led government will pass the floor test.

Of the total 104 provincial assembly members, 39 are from JSP-N, 19 are from NC, 16 are from Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, 13 are from NCP (Unified Socialist), eight each are from CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN-UML and one is from Nepal Sanghiya Samajwadi Party.

Addressing the seventh session on Wednesday, CM Raut said that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority's (CIAA) raid in his office was done with a malicious intention to defame him.

He claimed that no irregularities had taken place in the procurement of cycles for CM 'Save girls, educate girls' programme. Addressing the provincial assembly, CM Raut made public the name of the company from which the cycles were procured.
