Kathmandu, Mar. 30: Indian Army has provided 100,000 Covishield vaccines to Nepali Army (NA) for sole administration to its military personnel and frontline health workers of its own.
According to the Army Headquarters, a formal handover ceremony of the provided vaccines would be held at the Headquarters on Tuesday in the presence of Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa.
The handover ceremony will be held virtually from Indian side while the army chief Thapa will be present physically to receive the provided jabs at the Army Headquarters, according to Brigadier General and spokesperson of Nepali Army Shantosh Ballave Poudyal. The jabs were provided as assistance to Nepali Army, he said.
A symbolic handover ceremony already happened at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday on its arrival at the airport from India, Poudyal said.
According to him, the provided jabs will be administered only to army personnel and health workers from Nepali Army.
