Tanahun, Apr. 3 : Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi, the first individual to do PhD in Nepali Literature, has been honored by this year’s “Kshetra Pratap Memorial Literature Award”.
The award is being provided by Gital Pratisthan and Natak Manch under the memory of late author and poet Kshetra Pratap Adhikary.
The award was handed over to Tripathi by author Atmaram Acharya. Tripathi was honored in his hometown at Tanahun on Friday.
Tripathi is also the former vice-chancellor at Nepal Academy and has made an unforgettable contribution in the sector Nepali language and literature.
“It was his contributions citing which the award selection committee selected Tripathi,” said Akash Adhikari, chairman at Natak Manch.
Similarly, the organizers handed over the last year’s “Kshetra Pratap Memorial Literature Award” to the son of late lyricist Ratna Shumsher Rana.
Rana was supposed to receive the award last year but it was delayed due to COVID-19.
