By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 21: India has recorded around 300,000 new cases of novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India, a total of 294,041 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in India in one day.
According to the Indian media, the highest single-day tally recorded by India during the first wave was 98,795 infections on September 17.
The infection rate has been surging massively in India since February. The Health Ministry also informed that 2,023 COVID-19 related fatalities were reported in India in the last 24 hours.
Maharastra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh of India have been hit hard by the second wave of the pandemic.
