Kathmandu, Aug. 29: The Namaste Adhunik Laghukatha Manch, on Saturday, released “Laghukatha ko sugandha”, a collection of short stories for children, amidst a virtual programme on Saturday.
The book has been edited by Ghanashyam Dallakoti ‘Krishnaji Sharma’, Shekhar Aryal, Gom Bikram, and Bidur Chalise. The book, published by BN Pustak Sansar, consists of a total of 230 short stories by 132 authors.
Shree Om Shrestha ‘Rodan’, former editor-in-chief of Gorkhapatra, sister publication of The Rising Nepal, was the chief guest in the virtual programme. Shrestha is also the chairman of Laghukatha Samaj Nepal.
“The book is a major initiation by the Manch since others haven’t been able to release a book consisting of short stories for children,” said Shrestha.
Likewise, officials of different organisations across the country related to short stories were also present in the programme. Prof. Dr. Bidhya Nath Koirala, an educationist, was the special guest.
“The stories in the book are great and should be included in the textbooks for children,” said Koirala.
The publishers informed that the book can be bought only through the officials of Namaste Adhunik Laghukatha Manch.
