By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct.27: An additional 1 million 20 thousand doses of Vero Cell vaccine have arrived in Nepal from China as the first consignment today.
According to Bade Babu Thapa, Senior Pharmacist of the supply management branch under the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the cargo flight of China South Airlines carrying 1 million 20 thousand doses of Vero Cell vaccine had landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 10.45 am this morning.
The government had made an agreement to buy 5.9 million doses of the vaccine from China on cost-sharing with COVAX facility, of them, 1 million 20 thousand arrived today.
The procured Vero Cell vaccines are stored at central storage, Teku.
Earlier, the government had bought 6 million doses of vaccine from China.
