By Sailendra Rokaya, Bajhang, June 22: A 32-year old youth placed in quarantine set up at Chabis Pathibhara Rural Municipality-7 of the district has committed suicide on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Dhami, 32, said Padam Bahadur Mandel, Ward Chair of Chabis Pathibhara-7.
“The youth hanged himself with the rope used to fence the quarantine area to prohibit in and out-flow of people,” said Ward Chair Mandel.
Dhami had returned to Bajhang from Banglore, India, on June 20.
Dhami’s wife and youngest son are stranded in India while two children are in the village, said Mandel.
Likewise, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ganesh Bam of Bajhang District Police Office, Bajhang, said that the reason behind suicide was not ascertained yet.
DSP Bam informed that Chief District Officer Kamal Raj Bhandari along with a team of health workers were coming to the place of incident.
Currently, three people are residing in the quarantine.
