By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Aug. 25: A 68-year-old male, who died on Sunday night while receiving treatment in Temporary COVID-19 Special Hospital, Gandak, has been found to be infected with the virus.
Dr. Atulesh Chaurasiya, information officer of the Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, said that in the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test report which came out late on Monday night, the 68-year-old of Jirabhawani Rural Municipality-4 was found to be COVID-19 positive.
He had recently undergone bypass surgery. After having some difficulties in breathing, he was admitted to Terai Hospital. The doctors at Terai Hospital had said that the patient was suffering from pneumonia.
As his health condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the Temporary COVID-19 Special Hospital at 9:00 pm on Sunday.
