By Our Correspondent, Banke, June 18: Cremation of the 43-year old woman of Lamkichua Municipality-2 in Kailali district who died while undergoing treatment of head injury at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur, has been conducted with due respect by a team of Nepali Army.
The woman had tested positive for COVID-19. Her body was buried on Thursday at the jungle near Dhakeri of Banke. On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Banke, Ram Bahadur Kurumbang and chief of Bhairab Prasad Battalion of Nepali Army, Nakul Thapa, were present.
Doctors, nurses, health workers and other employees at the Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur, have become scared as two persons who died while under treatment in the hospital were found infected with the virus within a week.
As two others infected with the virus are undergoing treatment in the hospital, as many as 13 doctors, 67 health workers and staff of the hospital have been placed in quarantine, which has affected the services delivery of the hospital.
Co-director of the hospital, Dr Nitesh Kanaudiya, said that emergency services, ICU, operation ward had to be sealed off repeatedly as four infected came to the hospital for treatment one after another and two of them even died.
