By Sujal Shrestha, Pyuthan, May 26: A woman staying at a quarantine facility set up in Janata Secondary School in Earawati Rural Municipality -6 of the district passed away today morning.
Chandra Bahadur Rana, ward chair of the rural municipality, said that Parwata Thapa, 27, who was suffering from brain tumor, had died while in the quarantine.
The woman who died had arrived in the district six days ago along with her family. The deceased had undergone brain tumor surgery twice, one three years ago and the other just two and a half months ago, said ward chair Rana referring to the deceased family.
The woman was sick and died while in the quarantine along with her husband Raju, mother Bishnu, younger brother Sunil Basnet, sons Rohit, 10 and Shiva, 3.
The family was living in Ludhiyana, Punjab, India.
Nil Bikram Shah, Chair of the rural municipality, said that rapid diagnostic test (RDT) of all the family members of the deceased was conducted today and no one tested positive for the novel coronavirus, SARS-C0V-2, that causes COVID-19.
We kept the sick woman in the quarantine upon her husband's request for there was no one to look after her at their home, said Shah, the Chair of the rural municipality.
