Dadeldhura, July 30: Water level has increased in Mahakali River due to incessant rainfall since Tuesday. With this, local settlements near by the river banks are made alert of possible risk of inundation and floods.
The water level was measured 6.5 meter at 11 am today in the river today. The water level above 5.80 meter is considered as the danger line in the river.
Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Hydrology Division Flood Forecasting Section has made alert at the settlements near by the river banks in Darchula, Baitadi, Dadeldhura and Kanchanpur districts. It is stated that the rainfall was recorded continuously increasing towards head water of the river causing threat of inundation and floods.
