By Govinda Sharma, Banke, Aug. 3: A ward chair and an officer level employee of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
After the virus infection was detected in various government officials of the district, swab samples of the officials of the Sub-metropolitan city and people's representatives were collected for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test on Friday.
In the test, a ward chair and an officer of the Sub-metropolitan city were found with the virus infection, informed Ram Bahadur Chand, Health Department Chief of the sub-metropolis.
Their PCR tests were conducted in Bheri Hospital.
After contracting the virus, the infected ward chair appealed everyone to opt for additional safety protocols against the virus as the virus had entered the community.
Prior to this, the cases of COVID-19 were detected in Nepalgunj Inland Revenue Office, Transport Management Office and the District Court.
