Rupandehi, April 18 : The State 5 government has started facilitating those heading to home on foot during the nationwide lockdown.
The government decided to help them reach home with the availability of required food on the way upon realising that a growing flow of pedestrians desperate to go home during lockdown increased risk of the COVID-19.
According to State 5 chief minister's press advisor Sher Bahadur KC, the government has sought the coordination of local levels for the management of pedestrians who mostly include workers and students. Local levels will make arrangements for conducting basic medical checkup of those people arrived along the respective borders by taking them in the locally built quarantines and facilitating their travel to homes in coordination with police administration.
For this, the state government has provided special grants ranging from one to 2.5 million to 109 local governments in the state.
