Janakpur, Sept 9 : Chief Minister of State 2, Lal Babu Raut, today extended best wishes to all women observing Jitiya festival.
"The festival reflects love of mothers towards their children, May this festival help retain faith and love of people across the country," he said in a message of greetings.
Usually, the festival falls on the seventh, eighth and ninth day of the waning moon in the Nepali month of Ashwin. This year, it begins today and concludes on coming Friday.
During the festival celebrated by married women of Tharu community and other women living in harmony with them, in general, women are invited to their parents' home to observe the fasting for the longevity of their husbands and children.
