Sindhupalchowk, Aug 14 : A team led by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has arrived for the rescue of those caught in the massive landslide at Lidi of Jugal rural municipality-2 in the district. The team arrived on a helicopter.
Nepal Communist Party ( NCP) central member Madhav Sapkota, Chautara Sangachokgadhi municipality mayor Aman Singh Tamang, CPN leader Saral Sahayatri, District Coordination Committee chair Hom Narayan Shrestha, and vice chair Sirjana Tamang are in the team, said Speaker’s media expert Shreedhar Neupane.
The massive landslide occurred this morning burying many houses is followed by a dry andslide at 10:00 am. The latest landslide caused additional human and property losses. It also impeded the search and rescue efforts, said Jugal municipality-5 ward chair Sanat Kumar Adhikari. The loss details are awaited.
Four people, two females and two males seriously injured in the Lidi landslide, have been taken to Kathmandu on a helicopter. According to police, rescue efforts are on.
