By Santosh Subedi, Siraha, May 27: Infection of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 has been detected in bodyguard and driver of Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, Superintendent of Police and chief of Siraha Police.
Saroj Guragain, Chief District Officer of Siraha, informed that SP Chaturvedi's driver and bodyguard had tested positive for COVID-19.
Both of them have been kept in isolation at Siraha District Hospital.
CDO Guragain said that SP Chaturvedi had been staying in self quarantine following the confirmation of COVID-19 infection in his driver and bodyguard.
Their swab samples were collected on May 18, 19 and 20 at Bahadur Shri Sher Gan, Choharwa, along with other security officers and security workers.
"Report of many security officials is yet to come," said CDO Guragain. "The security officials who were in direct contact with them will be kept in isolation and others will be deployed for security."
With this, number of COVID-19 cases in Siraha has reached eight.
