London, Aug 25 : Chairperson of the Sherpa Association United Kingdom, Sana Sherpa died of coronavirus infection. Sherpa, 51, a permanent resident of Bhojpur district, breathed his last at 1.00 pm Monday while undergoing treatment in London-based Saint Thomas Hospital, shared Palpa Society UK chair Bachaspati Regmi.
Sherpa was admitted to the Kent-based William Harvey Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus on 13 July. He was shifted to Saint Thomas Hospital for not seeing any improvement during two weeks.
Though he had tested negative for the virus a week ago, his kidney related complications did not see any sign of improvement.
Sherpa, the ex-Gurkha, is survived by a wife and three sons. His family has been staying in the United Kingdom.
