Okhaldhunga, Aug 23 : Vice-chair of Likhu rural municipality Shanta Dhungel has tested positive for coronavirus. She had been working actively to create public awareness and manage quarantines to the COVID-19 suspected persons and treatment to the infected ones.
She had been Kathmandu in connection with the works of rural municipality some days back. She had undergone test after experiencing symptoms. Her result was positive, said chief of District Health Office, Suman Tiwari. Dhungel's health condition is normal and staying in home isolation.
"I've no serious problem on my health, so taking rest at home. I hope I return to work soon after beating the infection," she shared.
It is the first time the people's representative tested positive for COVID-19 in the district. Currently there are two positive persons receiving treatment at District Hospital, Rumjatar.
