By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 16: A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a 28-year old youth for allegedly hacking Nepal Telecom's (NT) mobile application server.
The police arrested Diwakar Deuja from Dhankuta Municipality-4, who is a public service employee as a computer operator in the Ministry of Social Development’s building in Dhankuta, on July 15 on the charges of unethical hacking as per the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063.
He was involved in illegally entering into the NT’s server and receiving monetary gain by using and selling the packages of the NT. This had also affected the revenue and commercial reputation of the company.
The CIB has sent the arrestee to Nepal Police Cyber Bureau on Thursday.
