Kathmandu, June 9: The police have brought 10 people under control today from Baluwatar. They were trying to demonstrate on street by violating the lockdown.
Senior Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Range, Shyamlal Gyawali, said that the demonstrators gathered on street protesting the lockdown at Baluwatar area of Kathmandu were removed using water cannon and those violating the rules were brought under control.
He said that the protesters were staging demonstration on street breaching the lockdown imposed by the government to prevent and control coronavirus infection, so they were removed by using water cannon.
Though the government has imposed lockdown till June 14, people have started violating it by opening shops and operating vehicles, among others.
The government on the other hand has been contemplating alternatives to change the lockdown modality.
