By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 14: The government has made arrangement for the private laboratories to carry out PCR test of the SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
Dr. Jageshor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, informed on Sunday at a daily press briefing that the government would bear all the cost for the PCR testing to be done by the private labs.
He said that arrangement had been made for those private labs which had been granted permission to carry out the test of the collected samples by fulfilling required procedures.
"Arrangement has been made in such a way that the private labs which has taken permission from the Ministry of Health and Population can from now onwards conduct PCR test by meeting set standard and procedures," Dr. Gautam said.
He said that sample testing for COVID-19 for health report that maybe needed for traveling abroad and visa processing would be conducted at the laboratories of TU Teaching Hospital, Bir Hospital and Patan Hospital.
