Rautahat, Aug 20 : A priest of a local temple was shot dead.
Shreeram Saha, 65, priest of the Hanuman Temple in Madhav Narayan municipality-2, Khesarhiyatol, was gunned down at around 9.30 pm on Wednesday.
Priest Saha died on the spot, shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office Garuda Gyan Kumar Mahato.
He was shot dead on the temple premises.
A team headed by SP of the District Police Office Rabiraj Khadka has reached the site and initiated investigation into the death, DSP of the District Police Office Rautahat Bharat Shrestha shared.
The dead body of priest Saha was taken to the District Hospital Gaur last night.
Police in plain clothes have been mobilized in the area to identify the truth behind the incident.
