By Gokarna Poudel, Tulsipur, Aug. 17: A person who has been staying at home has contracted the novel coronavirus in Tulsipur, Dang.
According to Bimal KC, focal person of the health department at Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, the house of the COVID-19 infected has been sealed.
PCR test of the families members of the newly infected person would be carried out if they showed symptoms of the virus infection, according to KC.
He had given his swab sample for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test on August 10 at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
The infected has been taken to COVID-19 Special Hospital, Beljhundi.
After the virus infection was detected in person who had been staying at home, with no travel history, the locals have been terrified, suspecting of of the community transmission of the virus.
The infected person was in contact with other family members and his neighbours.
Currently, 16 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment in Beljhundi-based COVID-19 Special Hospital.
Tulsipur Sub-metropolis has recorded 78 cases of virus infection until now of which 62 have already recovered.
