By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Aug. 6: As many as 43 persons including 41 of Parsa district have tested positive for COVID-19 in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at the Narayani Hospital laboratory.
"As per the PCR test report, which came out late on Wednesday evening, 43 people including one each of Rautahat and Bara and 41 of Parsa were found with the virus infection," informed Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital.
Of the 43 infected, six are females, 11 are Nepali Army (NA) officials and one is a doctor. The symptoms of virus infection were seen in five of the infected.
Cases of virus infection were identified in six persons via mass tracing and in three via contact tracing.
Likewise, seven persons who had signed up for paid PCR tests were also found with the SARS-CoV-2 infection.
"A 35-year old female patient who had been getting her dialysis done at the Narayani Hospital and an official of Nepal Investment Bank Limited, Birgunj was also detected with the virus infection," said Dr. Upadhyaya.
The virus infection was found in two employees of Lion's Club, Birgunj and in an official of OPD of Narayani Hospital.
Parsa has recorded 582 cases of virus infection and 14 COVID-19 deaths in the last 22 days.
