By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 22: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed fifth COVID-19 death case today.
A 56-year old male of Bungmati, Lalitpur suffering from Alcoholic Liver Disease, who breathed his last on May 27, was found to be COVID-19 positive in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, informed Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press brief today.
"The deceased was admitted to KIST Hospital, Imadole, Lalitpur, on May 24. His swab sample was collected on May 25 for PCR test," said Dr Devkota. "He died on Thursday, May 28. He tested COVID-19 positive in PCR test today."
With this, number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached five in Nepal while according to the latest data the number of COVID-19 cases has reached 1042 with 187 cases of recovery.
