Chitwan, July 13 : As the road at Satrakilo along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section collapsed, the two-way vehicular movement has been affected. As the road collapsed this morning, the one-way traffic movement is resumed.
Division Road Office, Chitwan, said that repairing works are underway to resume the two-way traffic. Division Office Chief Krishna Adhikari said that the road section at Satrakilo and the nearby areas have sunk seriously affecting the maintenance works.
Though the road section was extended and upgraded last year, damages are witnessed in different parts recently. Adhikari said about 15-meter-long road section at Satrakilo has collapsed. The road was upgraded by applying anchor wall but the wall is being eroded by Trishuli River.
Similarly, about 70- meter-long road section at 26 Kilo is also sunk where 6.5 meters in width has collapsed.
Adhikari further said that they have called for tender bidding for the maintenance but no one has submitted the document till today.
