Kathmandu, Sept. 8: The Kathmandu valley municipality forum has called for enforcement of an odd-even system in vehicular transport by easing the prohibitory order. A meeting of the forum today suggested the local administration to allow vehicles other than mass public transport ones to ply in an odd and even system based on the date.
The forum has, however, concluded that strict enforcement of the health and safety protocol has to be ensured to ease the prohibitory order, said secretary of the forum and Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha.
It has also demanded more strict scrutiny of vehicles coming and leaving Kathmandu valley, while concluding that the responsibility be given to the Nepali Army. The forum has decided to resume services from the ward offices in the valley, effective Thursday.
