MoHP confirms four COVID-19 related deaths, death toll surges to 79

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 10: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed four COVID-19 related deaths across the nation today.

Four persons, two females and two males, from Banke, Parsa and Kathmandu districts succumbed to COVID-19 on August 9 and 10, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

A 70-year-old female of Kohalpur Municipality-2, Banke, suffering from COVID-19, died at 3:10 pm on August 9 while receiving treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College (NMC), Kohalpur. She was admitted to the hospital on August 7 and she was also suffering from high blood pressure.

A 45-year-old female COVID-19 patient of Parsa died at 4:00 am on August 7 while receiving treatment at Narayani COVID-19 temporary hospital, Parsa.

Similarly, a 76-year-old elderly of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10, Baneshwor, succumbed to the virus infection on August 10 at Medicare Hospital, Kathmandu.

A 64-year-old COVID-19 patient of Tyanglaphat, Kritipur, receiving treatment at Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Bhainsepati, Lalitpur breathed his last at 5:42 am on August 10.

With this, the COVID-19 death toll of Nepal has reached 79.
