Baglung, Sept 3 : A chopper carrying Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa toward Dhorpatan area of Baglung district returned halfway due to unfavourable weather condition.
The helicopter returned to Pokhara, it is said.
Minister Thapa was on his way to visit Dhorpatan to take stock of the damages caused by the flooding occurred since last night.
Member of House of Representatives (HoR) from Baglung, Devendra Poudel, and Chief Executive Officer of National Natural Disaster and Risk
Reduction and Management Authority, Anil Pokharel, were also on board.
According to Minister Thapa’s press coordinator Kiran Bhattarai, the helicopter will again fly to Baglung after the clear weather.
Similarly, Chief District Officer of Baglung Suresh Neupane said that the road section to and from Dhorpatan is also disrupted due to the landslide adding that a rescue team is on foot toward the site.
According to him, 11 dead bodies were recovered as 36 have gone missing in the incident.
