By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 27: The Election Commission on Monday announced that Lila Devi Sitaula of Samajhwadi Party was elected as the member of House of Representatives (HoR), which had been vacant after the Party expelled Sarita Giri.
The Party had recommended Sitaula’s name in the vacant position for female representative under Khas Arya group in the proportional representation (PR) system, said Rajkumar Shrestha, spokesperson of the Election Commission.
Giri was expelled by the party after she stood against the Party’s decision to support the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2077 which incorporated the updated political and administrative map of Nepal in the national coat of arms in Schedule-3.
