Sindhupalchowk, Aug 15: The eleven people who died in the landslide that took place at Lidi in Jugal rural municipality-2 on Friday morning have been identified. Two men, four women and five children died in the incident, according to District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.
The deceased have been identified as Pirti Dong, Dhanmaya Dong, Tikamaya, Dong, Tshering Dong, Jitai Jhankri, Milan Dong, Sanu Dong, Jaya Bahadur Dong, Dawahyalmu Dong, Tarhyalmu Dong and Rimex Dong.
Meanwhile, rescue work to find those missing in the landslide began early this morning. Security personnel including army and police with the help of locals are involved in the rescue work, Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal said. A total of 27 people have been reported missing since the landslide struck the settlement.
