Galeswor, Aug 18 : Landslide occurred at Managala rural municipality-5, Arman of Myagdi has blocked the rivulet flowing straight through Hilbang village. Locals have been cautioned with the rise in the risk at Khanibas, Kursila and Kharapani area following blockage of the local rivulet since 4.30 pm on Monday, Mangala-5 ward chair Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri.
“The landslide debris got piled up in the rivulet. If the blocked rivulet gets outlet abruptly it will invite catastrophic damages to the downstream villages”, ward chair Khatri added.
Meanwhile, a team comprising local people’s representatives reached the site to take stock of the status of Hilabang rivulet. The landslide from the community forest has blocked the rivulet and formed an artificial lake, posing a serious threat to the downstream community people, the team members shared.
A police team has also been mobilized in the landslide-hit area from Babiyachaur. The blockage of the rivulet has stoked fear of the local residents of Kursila and Kharapani.
