Sindhupalchowk, July 31 : Power generation has halted at Indrawati III Hydropower Project due to the landslide occurred at dam site of the project.
The landslide had taken place at the dam site of the 7.5-MW project a Panchpokhari Thangpal-8 on Thursday night. Main entrance of the tunnel of the project and pond has been completely damaged due to the landslide.
The landslide has put Tipeni bazaar and human settlement above the landslide at risk. The landslide has been taking place at the area due to construction of Panchpokhari tourism route and expansion as well as continuous rainfall.
Hundreds of people have been stuck there in lack of alternative route at the place. Chairperson of Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality, Tasi Lama, said that they would involve in rescue of the stranded people and to resume the obstructed road.
Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajatantra Party has provided relief materials to the victims of landslide and flood at different laces of the district.
The RPP on the behalf of Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana on Thursday provided relief materials of worth Rs 67,000 to victims of Bahrabise municipality, Bhotekohsi and Jugal rural municipalities.
