Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality in Jumla sealed off after detection of a case of COVID-19

By Netra Sahi, Kalanga, Aug. 7: Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality in Jumla district has been sealed off for three days starting from August 6 to 9 following confirmation of infection of the novel coronavirus in a 42 year old female of Lum village, ward No. 3 of the rural municipality.

Both the District Administration Office, Jumla, and Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality have issued a public notice in this regard.

According to the notice issued by Narabir Rawat, Chair of Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality, whole of the rural municipality has been sealed off for three days starting from 6th to 9th of August in order to curb the spread of the virus in the community.

 The general public of the rural municipality especially those of the Lum Village are appealed to follow the restriction of the movement.

District Administration Office, Jumla, in the press release, informed that the Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality-3 will remain shut down for three days.

Bhupendra Thapa, Chief District Officer (CDO) informed that the area has been sealed off after detection of the COVID-19 infection case in Lum Village. Likewise, three security officers of the area have tested positive for COVID-19 again while staying in the home quarantine after recovering from the disease.

The COVID-19 infection was confirmed in the test of the swabs in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method.

Dondha Bahadur Shahi, Administration Officer of Karmali Academy of Health Sciences, said that four of the COVID-19 patients are admitted in the isolation ward.
