Kathmandu, Oct. 12: The Ministry of Health and Population has directed the hospitals in Kathmandu valley not to carry out surgeries except of emergency cases.
The Ministry’s directive comes at a time when the symptomatic cases of coronavirus infection are on the rise almost every day in the recent time.
Ministry argued that the fresh directive was aimed at providing ICU beds and ventilators to the Covid-19 patients.
At a regular briefing today, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam also said that preparations were on to seek building and land plot for the development of a 300-bed infectious diseases control hospital in Kathmandu valley.
Likewise, the government has decided to transform all government hospitals of Kathmandu valley into Covid-19 hospitals.
Similarly, the bodies concerned are asked to ensure strict health protocols in the public vehicles and public places.
