Kathmandu, Aug 5 : Price of gold has shot up by Rs 1,600 per tola today to reach Rs 101,400 as compared to Rs 99,800 per tola on Tuesday. Chhapawal (hallmark) gold is traded at Rs 101,400 per tola and Tejabi (worked) gold at Rs 100,900. One tola is 11.66 grammes.
Likewise, silver has increased Rs 65 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association. The white metal is bought for Rs 1,295 per tola.
Price of gold continued to soar since it increased Rs 10,400 per tola to reach 87,000 lately on June 7. Per ounce gold in the international market is USD 2,024.53 and silver USD 25.96.
