By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, July 23: As many as four police officials of State 1 Police Office in Rani, Biratnagar have tested positive for COVID-19.
After a police official was found with the virus infection on Wednesday, the COVID-19 test was conducted among 22 others who had come in direct contact with the infected official.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dipak Pokharel, spokesperson of State 1 Police Office, of the 22 COVID-19 suspected patients, four were found with the virus infection on Thursday.
Pokharel said that preparations were underway to send them to isolation centers.
“The official who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday was suffering from cough and cold. We had sent him to home quarantine,” said SP Pokharel.
After five officials were found with the virus infection, the State 1 Police Office has opted for high alertness.
